Enrolment Age Range:

 

18 months through to 6 years of age

 

Teacher/student ratio:

 

We subscribe to the Montessori philosophy of education and therefore will enrich your 18 – 36 month old child with Montessori materials and Montessori methodology in this centre whereby your child “teaches himself through play” under the watchful eyes of our “Directresses” (teachers) and hence our teacher/student ratio is as follow:

                

If you believe in the Montessori approach to education, we invite you to visit our JHS Montessori Kindergarten (http://www.jhsmontessori.com) located within the same complex at 332 River Valley Road and register your child for the morning or afternoon sessions and you will receive preferred discounted rates at this childcare centre. Jewellery and toys from home:

 

Do not let your child wear any jewellery or bring any toys to the centre.

 

Absence from the centre:

 

You are required to keep us informed of your child’s absence from the centre.

 

Dress code:

 

The child is required to wear our centre uniform whenever he is in the centre. An extra change of clothing should always be provided in your child’s school bag. Please mark your child’s name on all his clothing. Your child should always come to the centre in shoes. Slippers are not permitted.

 

Birthdays:

 

On your child’s birthday, you may arrange for birthday treats for the entire class by special pre-arrangement with the class teacher. We do not recommend any meat dishes or meat-based snacks of any kind. We suggest fresh or dried fruits, nuts or vegetarian confectionery to make it as universal as possible.

 

Parent-centre Partnership:

 

We encourage parents to observe and/or participate in our extra-curricular activities so that you can extend the activity into your home environment.

 

Discipline by parents:

 

Parents are not permitted to discipline their child within the centre premises.

 

Closure days (5½ days per year):

 

Because registered childcare centers are required by law to open 5½ days every week of the year (except for gazetted public holidays) and do not have extended term holidays like the normal schools in Singapore, the Ministry of Community Development and Sports permit us to select 5½ days each year for spring cleaning and/or training purposes. We will give you 1 full calendar month’s advance notice of our selected days each calendar year so that you can make temporary alternative arrangements for the care of your child on these dates.

 

Transportation:

 

Bus transport to and from the centre can be arranged.
